The things of the Old Testament are recorded for our learning. God was with Gideon and will be with us today. Gideon was triumphant because God was with him. Just like Gideon sent home the fearful, so God will not use those who are afraid. God lowered the numbers in Gideon’s army. It may have not made earthly sense, but Gideon did not question God’s wisdom. Gideon’s army acted with unity. God had a duty for each man.
